HERMÈS
THE CREATION
Bel Ami eau de toilette, a tribute to the novel of the same name by Guy de Maupassant, celebrates the authenticity of leather. Created in 1986 by perfumer Jean-Louis Sieuzac, this composition interprets the material with great opulence and character.
OLFACTIVE NOTES
Bel Ami eau de toilette, a fragrance with leathery and woody accords, asserts the boldness of the encounter between enchanting patchouli, deep leather, and sensual labdanum cistus.
THE OBJECT
The bottle, inspired by vintage car lanterns, is completed with a black cap that evokes the domed helmet of knights. The label on the back, an iconic element of the Profumi-Fondatori collection, is illustrated with a drawing by Philippe Dumas.
THE PROFUMI-FONDATORI COLLECTION
The Profumi-Fondatori collection draws inspiration from the maison’s tradition. Each creation embodies the Hermès imaginary in a name, a fragrance, a color. Over the years, Hermès has written the pages of a daring perfumery, born from encounters with extraordinary perfumers.
The name Bel Ami, a reference to the protagonist of Guy de Maupassant's novel, celebrates the leather note in its most authentic expression. This chypre fragrance, imagined in 1986 by Jean-Louis Sieuzac, interprets the material with opulence and character. A novelistic, even detective-like twist. A classic, elegant style with an incredibly sensual signature.
