HERMÈS
LA CREAZIONE
Eau d'Hermès is the first fragrance from the Hermès house. Created in 1951 by perfumer Edmond Roudnitska, it evokes “the inside of an Hermès bag wrapped in the scent of a perfume.”
OLFACTIVE NOTES
Eau d'Hermès is an aromatic and spicy eau de toilette. It combines the radiance of lemon petitgrain with the intense energy of cardamom, rounded off by the warmth of cinnamon.
THE OBJECT
The bottle, inspired by vintage car lanterns, is topped with a black cap that recalls the domed helmet of knights. The label on the back, an iconic element of the Profumi-Fondatori collection, features an illustration by Philippe Dumas.
THE PROFUMI-FONDATORI COLLECTION
The Profumi-Fondatori collection draws inspiration from the house's tradition. Each creation encapsulates the imagery of Hermès in a name, a fragrance, a color. Over the years, Hermès has written the pages of a bold perfumery, born from encounters with extraordinary perfumers.
Conceived in 1951 by Edmond Roudnitska around a citrus, spicy, and floral theme, Eau d'Hermès is the house's first perfume. It draws its inspiration from the evocation of a wonderful, sensitive scent: “The inside of an Hermès bag where the aroma of a perfume lingered… A note of refined leather wrapped in fresh citrus and spicy wafts,” commented the composer at the time. A historical novel inspired by the tradition and culture of the House, dedicated to both men and women. A powerful and sensual writing.
