Matcha Tea Chasen

An indispensable part of the tea ceremony

If making matcha with a shaker doesn't feel elegant enough, meet the Matcha Tea Chasen bamboo whisk. This delicate and fragile tool, called a chasen, is crafted from a single piece of bamboo and is essential for properly whisking matcha in the tea bowl. This way you can prepare this emerald potion in a truly ceremonial fashion.

In Japan, the chasen is so respected that once worn out, it is not thrown in the trash but is ritually burned at the temple. Throwing the chasen away would be a great faux pas.
